Welcome to the website of Nesodden Rotaryklubb. We are located on the penninsula of Nesodden, which is about 40 minutes by car from Oslo. You can also take the boat from Oslo/Aker Brygge (no. 601), which will take you to the penninsula within 10 to 25 minutes. Give our president a call (ring 1881 or check telefonkatalogen.no for his number) and he will make sure that somebody will pick you up from the ferry terminal.
Nesodden is a lovely place with around 18,000 inhabitants. It is largely known for its many artists, but also has a lot to offer for those of you that are more interested in sports. We have cross-country tracks with a length of around 120 km and lovely beaches along the fjords.
Should you be in town, we would be happy to meet you. We either meet in a traditional Norwegian building on Hilda Magnussensvei 1 or in a modern administrative building called Tangenten located in the centre of our city. We usually meet at 19.00 for coffee and cakes; the actual meeting is from 19.30 to 20.30. Check the "Møter" page to check the meeting arena on the day you have plans to visit us. And of course, we are involved in numerous projects dealing with Rotary's areas of focus, which are:
- Promoting peace
- Fighting disease
- Providing clean water
- Saving mothers and children
- Supporting education
- Growing local economies
Should the meeting be in Norwegian and the speaker rather speak in Norwegian, we will make sure you will be sitting next to an interpreter.
